The drug causes sedation, increased appetite, weight gain, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea etc as common side effects. These side effects are commonly seen at high doses especially at doses of more than 37.5 mg. Still at 25 mg dose it would cause sedation and sleepiness. In high doses the drug is known to cause reversible sexual dysfunction. The drug can cause delayed ejaculation, poor orgasm in males. These side effects usually reverse on stopping the drug.

Risperidone is an antipsychotic drug which is sometimes also used as mood stabiliser. The drug causes sedation, weight gain, dizziness etc as common side effects. In doses of more than 4 mg per day it may cause tremors, salivation, mask like face, akathisia, dystonia etc side effects. Over all the drug is safe to use if used as per proper prescription.
