Question: 1)What are the side effects of Montec LC tab.
2)Sometimes Antibiotic drug is not capable of killing E.Coli bacteria in human body.Am I wrong?

1. Montec LC is a very safe medicine and I have not observed any significant side effect in my patients till date. The only side effect is increased sleepiness. It is nothing to be concerned about.
2. The point is not correct. E.coli is a member of normal bacterial flora of our body. It is only when their count rises more than a particular level (in urine) that it is considered to be an infection. In case antibiotics are given, the sensitivity profile matters. Not all antibiotics are sensitive. If treated with antibiotics where there is resistance, or if treated with inadequate dose or for inadequate period of time, they would not be eliminated.
