Brief Answer:
Depakote is able to treat mood fluctuations

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Depakote is used as a mood stabilizer. Used alone or with antidepressants, it's been used in the treatment of bipolar disorder. Therefore if you meant what are the ill - effects on bipolar management, then I would say the Depakote has beneficial effects and not ill-effects.

However there are other known side effects that occur irrespective of whether or not the individual has bipolar. It includes tremors, dizziness and nausea. On the long run it can induce weight gain, liver damage and testosterone increment.

Hope this answered your question. If you have any other specific questions, let me know.
