Question: I have swelling and pain from two perscriptions, Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide. I stopped taking both. Will the swelling ever go away? What can I do to get rid of the swelling?

I am so sorry to hear about this swelling. It is a known side effect of this drugs and for sure it will slowly regress and more so because you have stopped taking this medication which is the cause. For now, reduce salt and water intake as well as elevating the limbs each time this is possible to increase fluid drainage back to the heart and body. This usually takes about 4-8weeks depending on how long you took this drug before stopping. Also, regular exercise will help accelerate the healing and recovery process.
