Brief Answer:
Usually mild side effects

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
Nexium suppresses acid production in the stomach and helps the inflammation to subside and lesions to heal. The most common side effects are diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headaches, rash and dizziness. Sometimes it may produce symptoms related to low Magnesium level such as dizziness, confusion;
fast or uneven heart rate;
jerking muscle movements;
jittery feeling;
diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
muscle cramps, muscle weakness or limp feeling;
cough or choking feeling; or
seizure (convulsions).
Long term acid suppression impairs a natural defence and can theoretically produce over growth of pathogens.
