What Are The Long Term Effects Of Taking Augmentin?

Question: Severe Klebsiella bacteria infection from lumbar spine surgery. Just completed a 6 week course of Cefazolin (6 gm/24 hr) IV infusion. Now they want to transition me to 875 mg Augmentin x2 per day for 1 year or for the rest my life. What is the long term experience for being on Augmentin long term.

Titanium hardware used in spine surgery is found to have some antibacterial properties too.

If there will be any serious side effects, removing the fusion hardware and cleaning the surgical site is necessary.
