I have severe chronic fatigue and recently developed a bad severe sore throat. I know this is a symptom of cfs . What can i do for it besides drinking salt water and taking motrin. i am 34 female. i also have hot flashes and then get cold. What can i do about the soar throat it feels like im swallowing glass and is very swollen. i also have post nasal drip.

There are numerous home remedies that are being practised successfully by people suffering from intense sore throat.

One thing that you can do immediately is dissolvable ASPIRIN in warm water (30ml), five times a day. Remember do not try this if you are allergic to ASPIRIN.

Severe sore throat is a sign of infection and you should be taking a course of antibiotics.The post nasal drip is causing the sore throat. You should take prescription antibiotics like azithromycin for 7-10 days.

The hot flashes are not related to the hormone imbalance first.You can have a hormone level test for that ,esp to rule out early menopause.

Meanwhile, if you are allergic to DISPRIN, salt water gargles several times a day will help. Also steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil / menthol etc should help clear the nasal passages.
