What Are The Effects Of Accidental Ingestion Of Kerosene?
Question: Hi - my daughter took a sip of kerozene mistaking it for water. She immediately spitted out and we washed her mouth with water and asked her to drink some. I am overseas and took her to local ER and local pediatric clinic. She is acting normally. She ate today and playing fine. Should I be worried or concerned or do anything more?

Kerosene can cause aspiration chemical lung damage.
But it is difficult to predict which kid will get it as it depends on the aspirated amount.
If your child is alert active and playful without any symptoms, and ER and pediatrician have ruled out any damage, I think your daughter is safe.
If she develops any symptoms like cough, fever, vomiting or fast breathing consult your doctor again. Otherwise she should be fine.
There is no need for any treatment as of now.
