Question: Hi.. Just wondering from a tiny cut on my index fingure is there are any chance of contracting hiv if i coming to contact with blood or bodily fluids.it did bleed for 10 sec after that it didnt bleed. And i didnt put any plaster while im going to work. Just wondering if i come to contact with blood or fluid will it pose any risk. I have attached the pic

Welcome to health care magic.
I have gone through the photo and details.
There is no chance of coming in contact with HIV by routine works.So the risk of transmission of HIV is nil.
If you had come in contact with infected blood or fluids when it was bleeding wound,there are chances of transmission of HIV.
HIV virus does not survive in environment for more than few minutes. So the possibility of transmission through environment is nil.
Otherwise once the scab is formed the chances are almost nil.

Thanks DR..It was bleeding for 10sec after that it stopped bleeding... After 1hrs time only i went to work.. So do u reckon any risk..?? And would u reckon any scab would have formed with an hours time and how long it normaly takes a cut to form a scab..

Can u plz calrify my cut is a bleeding open wound or just a cut.. Cut happend when i tried to open up a fish tin..

It is a simple cut .There will be mesh like formed within hour of cut.Routine works, there is no chance of transmission of HIV. I do not see any risk from this cut.
