Brief Answer:
Causes as enumerated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.

The probable causes of not clearing bacteria in urine even on two courses of antibiotics are many:

*The bacteria are resistant to the the antibiotic given,
*There is a focus for infection like a stone,
*Obstruction to the passage of urine anywhere in the system,
*Severe infection with the structural damage will take more time,
*Specific diseases like tuberculosis,
*Still rarer ones- like internal fistula with other organs.

I hope the urine was subjected to culture sensitivity test. Blood work including urea and creatinine are done.
CT scan is necessary to find the probable cause.
Increased out put has nothing to do with clearing or not clearing infection- it has to do something with the renal function.

The bloating can be due to antibiotic itself. It occurs due to clearing of the normal bacterial flora of the intestines and gets alright with probiotics. Increased urea and creatinine can also cause this.

If you are having herpes at the moment- it will reduce the body's resistance and delay progress of any disease process.

I have finished bactrim 3 days ago, currently taking valocyclovir. Herpes sore cleared up about 2 days ago, but still extremely achy, sore feet, sore back. Hurts to walk, or sit. Urinating isnt quite as difficult, still flowing and not so hot, but still doesnt feel right. No appetite, or energy. Bloating has gone down a little, but still achy gut. Only one bowel movement since friday. Wondering if this is colon, as i had diarrea issues for 2 weeks before this all. I have been monogamous for over 10 months, and boyfriend had no symptoms, but has mentioned a "pimple" on his penis, and a previous girlfriend getting checked for herpes and was negative, however, should he be checked, was he the carrier? Also, can you be a carrier for bacterial infections that cause UTI? If he doesnt shower daily, can this cause this for me? He does has cold sores, so already has the virus. pleas help

Brief Answer:
Take laxative for constipation...

Detailed Answer:
Did you receive my last query?= ( Sorry, could not get what you mean by.)

You were just recovering from UTI and got an added infection herpes and taking anti-viral medicines all together made you really weak. So few of the symptoms of Sore feet and back, no appetite, no energy.

Bloating seems to be due the constipation and antibiotic effects.'
I would advise such a patient to get a laxative to clear the bowel , so that the bloating will go away. The uneasiness will also get relieved.

Your boyfriend:: has no symptoms, so it is possible that he may not be suffering.
Pimple on a penis can be due to herpes. ( this is what he has mentioned, you have not seen on your own)
IT is good that his girl friends is negative.
He should be checked to see if he is a carrier for herpes. Genital herpes virus is passed from one person to another through sexual contact. This happens even if the person with the virus doesn't have symptoms or signs of infection.
Once the virus enters through the skin, it travels along nerve paths. It may become dormant (inactive) in the nerves and remain there indefinitely. Herpes can be present even without having any symptom or sign. SO no sores on penis is no guarantee against Herpes. Herpes can be dormant for years and can re-surface anytime.

Yes, you can be a carrier of for bacterial infections that cause UTI. This is the reason along with a natural short length of urethra in females that cause UTI easily in females.

If he does not shower daily can be a cause of your UTI, yes..
If you are monogamous, it is possible that the herpes is transferred from him to you. And you can not be sure that he is monogamous.

I hope this helps you all your queries; please feel free to ask more if you need further clarification.

Wishing you an early and uneventful recovery.

Good evening. The biggest concern today is feeling so weak. My boyfriend says he thinks im getting worst, hard to walk, even stand comfortably. Back and pain in my buttocks, and sharp shooters in legs, etc. Body feels sore, and i feel a little winded and more weak today. I still feel something is up with my urine, but never heard from my doctor, as we missed each others return calls, but i sure would like to know what else they found with the couple of labs they did. This pain in ankles and buttocks is ridiculous. Ive never felt like this. Tummy is more comfortable, but i still feel something is wrong. wish i could get in and continue trying to fiqure this out. I havent started a laxative or anything cause of meds im on, and not sure if i should since this all started w diarrhea.Any more input?

Brief Answer:
take paracetamol / multivitamins

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
It is this weakness that might have caused the herpes to attack you. We take herpes as an indicator of internal body weakness. Yes, you must in a pretty bad shape.

Admission in a hospital can be sought as you are so weak. The pains here and there can be due to weakness or suggestive of infection in the blood causing all this.

I do advise in such cases blood culture also as this may sometimes give a clue ( may not be in your case as you are already under an antibiotic treatment).

Let us see what your reports are saying. Mild laxative should not cause a problem like diarrhea, you may need a change of antibiotic according to reports. Please discuss this too with your treating Doctor.

I hope you are taking Paracetamol or so for the pains. Take multi-vitamins also.
