Brief Answer:
FEW POINTERS FOR YOU.

Detailed Answer:
Okay, here are a few pointers for her overall health and well being -
1. Since delivery is by C section ( operation ) , she should avoid lifting heavy weights, bending, stretching etc for 2 months.
2. Avoid intercourse for 2 months, after that, use contraception even if she has not yet resumed her menses.
3. She will have some kind of bleeding / spotting / discharge for 2 - 3 weeks, that is normal, also some amount of pain and cramps.
4. For increasing breast milk, feed the baby exclusively on breast milk. Do not give even water. The mother should drink atleast 5 - 6 litres of water every day.
Since she is slightly overweight, she should not eat oily, greasy, fried food like ghee, butter, potatoes , rice etc.
She should eat all fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, skimmed milk, curd, buttermilk, methi, palak, soups, salads.
5. After 4 weeks, she can start walking everyday .
6. Use abdominal binder ( belt ) for the tummy after C section.
7. The baby will keep her awake at night, she should get good rest and help at home, she should sleep when the baby sleeps. Avoid stress and arguments with her, she needs lots of love and support at this time.
8. Till she is breastfeeding the baby ( next 6 months ) , she should take daily iron and calcium and vitamin D ( Livogen once daily and SHelcal - D3 twice daily ).
9. She should be reading good calming spiritual books.
10. Let her massage and bathe the baby everyday, it stimulates bonding between the mother and baby. Mother also should receive good olive oil / coconut oil gentle massage everyday to tighten the tummy and erase stretch marks.
11. She should not take any drugs / medications without consulting the doctor as they can pass in breast milk.
12. Avoid travelling as far as possible.
Please let me know if there is anything else you need to know.
