Hello,

Whats good:

1) A new life to a dying patient.
2) A new hope.
3) It led to transplant of many other organs.
4) Saves patient from prolonged dialysis and slow death.
5) decreases financial load over society.
6) Saves Opened new horizons and advances in medical research and transplant research.
7) Not only saves life but improves quality of life.
8) less transmission of blood borne infections which is common in transplant.

Harms:

1) Created a difference of health care between rich and those who cant afford. I most of the parts of world not many can afford or have a good medical cover so rich get saved poor dies. This is socially disastrous in a way.
2) In many places of the world transplantaion has become a mafia to earn money.
3) In specially 3rd world countries people sell their kidneys to earn.
4) person is put on immuno suppresant which have side effects and person is prone to infections.
5) Transplanted kidney seldom stays working for more than 10 years.
6) Some times relatives are emptionally under pressure to donate their organs or they have social problems regarding this.

Brief Answer:
This topic is a neurtal one.

Detailed Answer:
I think the obesity one you just posted has more scope of writing and you can definitely conclude it on a note that exept in very few cases..these meds have destroyed the society...as far as kidney transplant is concered...Its a brilliant advance in medical scinece though there are drawbacks as in every thing there are but over all you can give a strong conclusion in this regard..I always like topics in which you can give a strong conclusion. In matter of kidney transplant it will be a neutral conclusion you will have to give.

I would also suggest you to discuss these things with your mentor or supervisor.

regards.
