What Are Ovulation Period?
Question: Hi Doc,
Got tested for STD's as we are planning for a baby and currently trying as we are in ovulation period.
But the tests were all negative except Chlamydia Trachomatis IgG
(Serum,EIA) came back positive.
This came as a shock. Can you please suggest, should i take further tests? Medication?
Also we are in ovulation period. What we should do? Stop trying? Get my wife also tested?

Brief Answer:
Your wife also as to be tested for Chlamydia Trachomatis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Presence of Ig G antibodies for Chlamydia Trachomatis is not necessarily indicates a present active infection. Presence of Ig A and Ig M against Chlamydia Trachomatis indicates active infection whereas the presence of Ig G antibodies indicate either an old resolved infection or an active infection. A positive PCR test for Chlamydia will confirm the presence of an infection. Otherwise it is a resolved old infection.
The presence of an active infection in a man can affect his fertilizing capacity.

Brief Answer:
Seminal analysis values are fine.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back
Your seminal report is perfect and not to worry.
Pus cells in the semen is 1-2 cells. So there is no involvement of your reproductive tract due to chlamydia. It seems your chlamydia positive result reflects an old infection and not active. So not to worry.
HSV 1 and 2 Ig G also seems to positive from your report.
Not to worry about Chlamydia trachomatis Ig G positive results. Anyway better check your partner also with tests for Chlamydia and HSV
