Question: How urgent are microcalcifications? They just found them and I have a 6 week family trip starting in 1 week? Can I wait 6 weeks for the biopsy?

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

The microcalcifications noted on your breast imaging could represent a few different possibilities.

Microcalcifications can be observed in the setting of breast cancer but can also be seen in benign glandular breast tissue.

unfortunately the imaging cannot necessarily tell us whether this is a benign or malignant finding anabiotic's he is needed.

I would not wait six weeks to have the biopsy performed. I would try to have a biopsy done as soon as possible so you can determine what type of follow-up is needed with your doctor.

I realize this may be inconvenient but I think the best decision is to make your health a priority in this type of situation.

Thank you again for sending the question.
