What Are Chances Of Spontaneous Conception With Normal Hormonal Range?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 May 2014
Question: Hi I am 38 and want a baby. I have had all hormone tests done and Consultant is very happy he says for my age I have good quality eggs and many of them. On Day 2 of cycle FSH was 4.2. Do you see I will be able to conceive naturally and if I have good egg quality does this mean I ovulate. Is it a matter of timing things right with ovulation to enable me to be a mum

Brief Answer: Natural conception is likely. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. Since all your hormones are within normal range and FSH level is also normal with good ovarian reserve the chances of spontaneous conception are present. If you have regular cycles with multiple maturing follicles in both the ovaries then it means that you are ovulating normally. Ovulation prediction kit is also very much helpful in context to predict ovulation and you should prepare for that day for unprotected sex for highest possibility of pregnancy. You can start taking folic acid & vitamin E supplements with healthy diet. Do some basic things also to improve fertility: 1) Avoid stress by yoga/deep breathing regularly (20-30 times). 2) Drink plenty of fluids/water and eat leafy vegetables & fruits. 3) Control body weight by regular physical exercise. 4) Maintain personal hygiene and need proper sleeping. Basically pregnancy depends on proper timing of ovulation & unprotected sex. Taking folic acid & vitamin E in preconception period are very much helpful to improve fertility & in brain development of fetus during pregnancy. Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have. Wishing you good health. Regards. Dr. Rakhi Tayal. Brief Answer: It is normal. Detailed Answer: Hello. Thanks for writing again. mild pain on deep penetration is a normal finding. This is not suggestive of blocked tubes. In case you are in doubt then getting a HSG done will help in alleviating your fears. Hope my answer is helpful. Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries. Regards.

Brief Answer: Detailed below. Detailed Answer: HSG (Hysterosalpingogram) tests the patency of fallopian tubes. It's a simple test but an important investigation tool. Usually tubes are not blocked if there is no history of recurrent pelvic infections or endometriosis. You can get the test done under the guidance of your gynecologist. Regards.

Brief Answer: Cannot be diagnosed without test. Detailed Answer: Hello. All these investigations are done if there is no conception after trying regularly to conceive during the fertile days for 6 months. These tests are not routinely needed. In case you have any difficulty in conceiving then you can consult an infertility specialist for all the detailed investigations. Right now there is no need to worry. Regards.
