What Are Chances Of Genital Herpes Infection After Protected Sex?

Question: Hi Doctor, I don't know if this site is completely true or not, please tell me if you are a real doctor. Exactly one month ago I had sex with a paid worker, she urged me to bring a condom, so I got to the room and followed to have sex, checking the condom was on a few times and at the end ejaculating inside the condom inside of her. I didnt see this as a risk when I started to worry about getting genital herpes, I dont have it, nor do I have anything on my penis or urethra. 2 weeks I go to a doctor because I had some white thing on the top of my urethra, I got it examined and he said this wasn't discharge but the skin was like that, it's painless. I was urinating oil for a day and after a few days got pressure burning in my bladder, however it never hurt to urinate, I took a urine test and he said I had a mild infection. I've gone back to taking cipro after the pressure went away for good, but every once in a while I get a pinching sensation in the urethra when Im not peeing, or after I pee. It's very mild. it's once in a while. Im worried the oily stuff could be an STD? My doctor said I wasn't exposed. no fever, flu, nothing. it's been a month. He said he doesnt reccomend any tests since I finished with a condom on.

Im wondering if the oily stuff could be an STD, it's not white or sperm like, it's as if you had a cup of clear water and poured a stream of oil. and saw it sink down and spread

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Hi. I am Dr. Sareer Khalil. I shall be answering your query. Based on your description, the oily stuff or discharge should be investigated further especially if there is associated burning or itchy sensation in the urethra. The ciprofloxacin was most likely advised empirically. If there is no symptomatic improvement then culture and sensitivity testing of the urine or preferably the oily discharge should be done to target the exact organism, if any. If your still worried about STDs then an STD panel can be requested with repeat testing at 3 months to be sure, in consultation with your doctor.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

Thanks doctor, there is no pain at urination, and I'm not worried about stds because I protected myself and had no exposure. The itching is maybe for 1 second at a time and not frequent. I was asking if the oily substance is anything to be extremely worried about. I have no std like symptoms.

thanks Gonzalo

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Normally, some seminal fluid can be passed along the urine. However, it doesn't occur frequently. One cant be completely sure based on the symptoms alone. If you want to be more certain, culture sensitivity of the urine is the only test that could determine whether the cause is an infection or not. There is no need to be extremely worried as this does not indicate a serious disorder. Even if growth is demonstrated on culture, antibiotics can be prescribed to target the specific bugs.

Have a great day.

Thanks
