Question: User Problem title : red sore throat

User Comments : I have been taking Augmenting for 5 days for a sinus infection. I developed a very red, painful sore throat on Friday. It is not improving. I have a few tiny white dots on my epiglottis. Is it possible to develop a separate infection while on Augmentin?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. You are having acute infection of the nose and acute pharyngitis. It may be that the same infection has involved the pharynx and nasal mucosa. So you continue augmentin tablet for at least 10 days. You should take an anti allergic tablet levocetrizine, steam inhalation, nasoclear nose drop. You need to start betadine gargle as it will decrease the infection. If possible give a throat swab for culture and sensitivity to the laboratory and follow up the report. Please continue to take orally specially more liquids.
