Trying To Conceive, Overweight, Penis Not Near Cervix While Having Sex, Ovulation Bleeding, Implantation Bleeding Difference
Question: hi Doctor,
ive been wanting to get pregnant for 7 months now and its not happening,
i am overweight and around 110kg and 22 years old could my weight be the reason? is there something i could take to enhance the chance of falling pregnant soon?
Also sometimes i feel that my husband isnt in correctly during sex, does the penis need to be right near the cervix for a girl to get pregnant?
Ive also been experiencing a bit of discharge with a tinge of pinkish/red spotting a week before my period is due, what could that be? whats the difference between implantation bleeding and ovulation bleeding? One more thing i wanted to ask is materbating wrong for a female?

Coming to your first question : could your weight be the reason for not able to get pregnant ?
Yes, being over weight can lead to many conditions like poly cystic ovary , diabetes , High blood pressure, high cholesterol , thyroid dysfunction and a hormonal imbalance . These conditions will have an adverse effect on your menstrual cycles and in turn affect the chances of pregnancy.Hence I suggest you to try and lose weight gradually and this would solve half the problems.You may also get routine blood tests and thyroid test to look for the above causes and get it controlled.Daily physical activity and meditation will help you.Reduce stress also.
Regarding the right position, to get pregnant, it is essential that the ejaculation must be in the vaginal wall , probably as XXXXXXX as possible. The sperms will need to then enter the uterine cavity through the cervix and then get ready for fertilization. I
You must have sexual intercourse during your ovulation period preferably from day 7 to day 21 of your cycles, provided they are regular. This time period will have maximum chances of pregnancy.
A discharge which gets unusual from the vagina with changes in color,smell and amount,will more possibly seem to be an infection. You have to see a Gynecologist for an XXXXXXX examination.
If the discharge is just spotting it could mean a hormonal change or an implantation bleeding.An implantation bleeding is one which happens a week or two before you expect your cycles , in case of a positive pregnancy.Implantation means the egg after ovulation will reach the uterine wall and gets adhered there in many women this will manifest as spotting which will not get heavier by the days.

I was taking clomid for a month what are the best days to take it to fall pregnant faster? what does clomid do exactly, what are other bloodtests that u can do or a body examine to find out why I'm not getting pregnant? I'm getting spotting at the moment and then it goes it's dischargy and pinkish and it's 4 days till my period is due, does that mean my period is coming or am I pregnant?I'm also getting bad headache n feel dizzy I also had a funny taste in my mouth earlier this month. Normal progesterone levels during a woman's menstrual cycle are, From day 1-14 of a menstrual cycle, the levels should be 1 to 1.5 ng/ml. From day 15 to 28, the levels vary from 2-28 ng/ml(average 8-10ng/ml).
Coming to your second question :I was taking clomid for a month what are the best days to take it to fall pregnant faster?
Ovulation usually occurs 5 to 10 days after the last pill. If you're taking on the day 3 through 7 dosing schedule, that would put your expected ovulation between days 12 and 17 of your cycle. If you're taking Clomid on day 5 through 9 of your cycle, that would put expected ovulation between days 14 and 19. Intercourse during the ovulation period is essential to get pregnant.
Coming to your Third question : what does clomid do exactly, what are other bloodtests that u can do or a body examine to find out why I'm not getting pregnant?
Clomid is Clomiphene citrate , which helps induce ovulation in such anovulatory women, thereby increasing their chances of becoming pregnant.
The Investigatiopns are:
1.Blood Test of Hormones like Progesterone, Prolactin, Thyroid profile, are done.
2.Ultrasonograghy of Abdomen, showing the Endometrial thickness of uterus , size of the Ovaries, Size of the Mature Graffian follicle(egg).
3.Hysterosalpingogram showing the patency of both the fallopian tubes.
With a urine pregnancy test one can differentiate between the spotting of next period and pregnancy.If you notice any changes in color,smell and amount,of the vaginal discharge it is more possibly seem to be an infection. You have to see a Gynecologist for an XXXXXXX examination.
Dizziness , headache are all the common side effects of the drug Clomid.
Don't worry about the position of penis inside the vagina its the semen which should be deposited in vagina.
You should be able to use a mild lube as long as it contains no spermicide ingredients (such as nonoxynol-9).
