Question: This query is regarding my sister aged 28, with complaints of vomitting folloed by stomach pain (around the navel). Pain starts immidiate after eating anyhting and also after passing the stool. This goes for a days or two and subsides by its own. And all these again start after a day or two. This is happening for 2 months now. What could be the root cause of it? We have undergone CT Scan Enterography, Ultrasound scan, endoscopy - all the reports are normal. If needed I can attach those reports. She is a patient of SLE+Neuro Disorder for more than 12 years and she is on medication for the same period.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Ask a doctor forum. I understand your concern.
I have gone through the documents you have sent me.
Well with SLE the spectrum of etiology of pain increases widely.
Worthwhile doing a stool routine and occult blood with stool modified ZN STAIN on three different occasions to look for other causes like parasitic infections like giardia, cyrptosporidia etc.
Worthwhile taking a course of de worming empirically after consulting your doctor.
Also sometimes enteroscopy (endoscopy to look at small bowel) to look for small bowel ulcers, swelling may be needed to rule out involvement of small intestine because of illness (SLE) or odd infections occurring in such patients due to low immunity. SLE per se can cause such symptoms due to direct involvement of intestine.
Revert to me with stool report and lets take it forward there after.
Give her small frequent meals too.
Some times low dose anxiolytics and a psychiatric opinion might be helpful too.
Hope this answers your query.
Wish her a speedy recovery
Happy to help.

Hi
I understand your concern
Well read my above message carefully and try to follow them.
Also looks like she has lot of anxiety too from the documents you sent me so worthwhile visiting a psychiatrist too to control it, it can cause retching and vomiting.
Switch to liquid diet say 200 ml every 3 hourly. also she has some ulcers in esophagus try sucrafil o syrup 15 ml thrice a day after meals for 7 days with other medications and see how she feels.
One more medicine that she can try is lesuride but only after consulting her primary doctor.

Best wishes.
