There Was A Surgery In Which A System Was Implanted.
Question: There was a surgery in which a system was implanted. I would like a list of MRI series to run to get a 3D representation of all components and wiring of that system.
This is needed for non-anatomical components, not for disease or tissue evaluation. It consists of wires and electronic components. A regular MRI partially shows some of the wires in a FLAIR series, but not sufficiently.
What group of MRI series would achieve a 3D representation of the entire system. It is in the head area.
I have an image showing some wires in a previous MRI, but only a few and it is not sufficient to show the entire layout. I can provide a couple of images from the MRI in jpeg format if that will help.

The FLAIR images show inversion of fluid areas and so the wires in the images stand out.
For 3D images we need to do thin section of a sequence where the fluid will be well visualised and the contrast will show the wires better. One such sequence is 3D CISS and this can have other names on various MRI machines.
I suggest you discuss with your radiology technician on doing a 3D CISS in a 3,0T MRI machine.

Thank you, but I'm looking for a little more specific as I will be seeing my GP who will send me for the MRI. I don't have insurance and the neurosurgeon is much more expensive than the GP. We are attempting to get a complete picture for the neurosurgeon to reduce his visits and cost.
