Question: Symptoms. My 14 year old is complaining of the following symptoms, which started around bedtime of the previous night:
Feeling dizzy
roof of mouth hurts
back of neck hurts
Feeling more tired than usual

Vitals.
Oximeter SPO2: 99-100%
Oximeter BPM: 72
Temp: 97.8
Cuff Pressure: 115/76
Cuff BPM: 73

I've also attached a copy of an 6 lead EKG from a consumer device called AliveCor KardiaMobile 6L.

Family history.
As his dad, I have a history of hyperthyroidism (I'm currently taking replacement hormone after radioactive iodine treatment), periodic lightheadedness, and is currently taking medications to address a dilated aorta at sinus of valsalva (46 mm).

My son's dizziness and tiredness have been periodic complaints. I had him drink water in case of dehydration.

Your thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Throat needs to be checked

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I have seen the attached EKG report.
EKG is normal.
No worries there.
Based on your history and description I don't think it is related to hyperthyroidism or heart related illness.
From what I could guess it could be a throat infection. I would suggest you to get his throat examined by his doctor. If need a throat swab may be needed to identify the pathogen.
His vitals as mentioned by you are normal.
Keep him hydrated
Can try acetaminophen or ibuprofen for aches
Wishing him speedy recovery
