Question: I want have another opinion from another Dermatologist.

1. last week I finished my swimming classes. my skin has become dark (tan). face, forearms, neck area and feet are looking dark.
I work as a model & i want to retain my colour. pls suggest something good. & how long will it take to get back my original colour.

2. Even before the swimming classes, my forearms, fingers were dark compared to my face. May be because of more exposure to sunlight. Can this be changed to lighter colour? If yes, what should I use & how long

Brief Answer:
Regarding treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you.
I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist).I have noted your concern.

Whenever outdoors, I suggest you to use a broad spectrum sunscreen throughout the day. A sunscreen with SPF 50 or more and which mentions both UV A and UVB coverage. Reapply specially when outdoors. Also use umbrella, broad brimmed hats. Avoid going out.

Use a 10-12% glycolic acid based cream/ lotion during the day e.g CutiYt- G lotion.
At night I suggest you to use a kojic acid and / or hydroquinone based cream. While kojic acid would prevent synthesis of new melanin, glycolic acid would exfoliate pre existing melanin.

It would normally take around 4-6 weeks to fade off.

Thank you.

CutiYt- G lotion I will buy to apply in date time. can u also suggest a cream for night (which is kojic acid and / or hydroquinone based)?

also, I mentioned about my forearms & fingers. what cream to apply to remove the dark complexion as forearms is tough skin compared to face? also this area was exposed to sun light than face & other parts. I want my forearms & fingers to have the same fair color of my arms (inner biceps)

Brief Answer:
Regarding skin lightening

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Yes, the glycolic acid lotion (CutiYt G lotion) has to be left on skin during day.

For night I suggest you to use either Radant lite cream or Depiwhite cream. It has to be left overnight.

For forearms too i suggest you to follow the same treatment as above I.e CutiYt G lotion for daytime application and Kojic acid + hydroquinone combination cream (Radant lite or Depiwhite cream) for night application.

These are all prescription medications and should be used under supervision and follow up of a dermatologist
