Brief Answer:
use only healthy food options when hungry to combat gain

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Medications can cause weight gain in different ways: (1)increasing appetite, (2)decreasing energy and therefore activity level
(3)affecting metabolism
(4)affecting fullness or satiety

It may not be possible to combat the hunger or increase in appetite but you can cause weight loss by looking at what is used when hungry.
If you use foods that would not be associated with weight gain then this would not only prevent any further gain but also help with weight loss.

You can choose which food/diet plan would best suit you, a low calorie/low fat approach or low carb approach.

With both, normal sodas/fruit drinks would have to be cut out and only low calorie drinks used to reduce sugar.

(1)With the low fat approach- you would use low fat foods such as yogurts, fruits , low fat jellos, salads, as snacks when hungry
Meals would be low fat/low calorie- vegetables should be at least half the plate, no or reduced frying, small portion of meat/fish

Low fat milk, cheese etc

(2)With the low carb approach
Nuts, cheese, meat, salad low sugar jello as snacks

Meals would be low carb- any reasonable amount of meat/fish with salad or vegetables.
NO or very reduced carbs

It is possible to lose weight with diet changes alone if exercise is difficult.

Summary: (1) may not be able to combat hunger but if you use foods that would not cause weight gain then this would be ok

(2)can use low fat/low calorie or low carb diet for weight loss, choose the one that you would be more likely to stick to

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
