Brief Answer:
Try to distract your mind

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM

I can understand your concern. First of all I'd like to tell you that try to accept the change in life. Accept that past is past and you have to move on. You have to convert the pain, stress and frustration into positive things. Try to find motivation to move up in all what happened to you after break up.

It's common to have aggravated depressive and anxiety symptoms after break up but in most individuals these don't last more than 6 months. These symptoms of adjustment disorder usually remit by own. The poor memory, stress and anger are due to lack of focus. To come out of these symptoms stay outdoors as much as possible. This will help you to distract yourself from past. Try to find a new hobby and if possible learn it or complete it. Reading, completing a new course, gym etc are options. Try to find interests in these things.

If symptoms are severe and persist then visit a psychiatrist for help. Medicines like SSRIs can help to reduce the depression. Fluoxetine or Escitalopram can be used for short time and will help you to come out of depression. These are safe medicines and can be used without any worries.

Thanks, Hope this helps you, if you have more doubts you can ask again.

Hi,
Thanks for advising. Moreover, I am a working professional , work for the top IT Company of the world XXXXXXX I have controlled my mind somehow but even after 3 months her words crosses my mind every time i sit to study. Recently, I have given some global entrance exams to take admission in global colleges. Even after so much suffering in my mind , I cracked the exams & have been selected in Top University of the world. The most positive part for me is that i knew it very well she lied to me many times & i don't have any emotional breakdown cause she wasn't worth anything from me .
My problem is that , i have a fear that if i moved to other country, i still will remember her words & wont be able to study properly.
I moved in to depression sometimes. I know that it will take time to recover. So , should i start taking medication you have prescribed. Please do tell me how often should i take medicines for depression & which medicine should i take to recover memory loss & depression as well.

Thanks XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
No need to fear

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking a follow up. I am sorry for late reply.

You have passed a exam even after break up and are selected for a good university and this is really a good thing. This also shows that you have good confidence. Now don't anticipate the things. Anticipating that these thoughts will cause increase in anxiety only. Try to appreciate the positive things you have, ignore the negative things. Make your mind and if you are getting good offer then no worries in shifting to new university. You will not suffer any problems there.

Try to control this without medicines if possible. Distract yourself, keep yourself busy, ignore negative things and appreciate positive things. If symptoms persist then we can think of starting medicines.

So just remain confident, on moving out of country you will not suffer any problems.

Thanks, still have doubts please ask again.
