Brief Answer:
Sugars grossly uncontrolled

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Your blood sugars are very much increased. The fasting sugars should be less than 130 mg/dl, after food less than 180 mg/dl and HbA1c less than 7% while you are having diabetes.

Continue medicines are recheck FBS, PPBS every 5 days. If sugars are not coming down it is better to start on insulin till the sugars are controlled. Once sugars are normal you can change to tablets. Better consult a diabetologist / Endocrinologist.

The things that you can do to control diabetes other than medications are:

1. Exercise

Aerobic exercise at least 20-30 minutes a day. Brisk walking for 30 minutes covering 3-4 km per day at least 6 days a week will do.

2. Diet

Frequent low calorie food with high fibre is the key. Eat in small proportion at correct time. Avoid refined carbohydrates like white sugar.

3 main meals and 3-4 snacks will help.

Breakfast : 1 cup oats, corn flakes, 2-3 chapatis /dosa/ iddli , vegetable curry

Lunch : Salads + 1 cup rice / 3 chapatis + vegetable curry

Dinner : Wheat based food is ideal. Chapatis, oats, etc according to social preferences

Snacks: any one of following at a time 3-4 times a day

1 Fruits : 1 apple/ orange/ small banana
2. Salads : 1 cup
3. Wheat bread sandwich
4. Egg white - if you take eggs
5. Vegetable soups 200ml
6. Butter milk, lime juice 200 ml

Regarding Dabur ratnaprash - it is better to stop this till sugars are well controlled.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
