Brief Answer:
Opiate withdrawal

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to see that you are feeling bad after stopping your oxycontin. What you are experiencing is withdrawal. You will feel bad achy, sweaty, chills, nausea abdominal cramping, diarrhea anxiety and sleep problems. This is all to be expected. The length of time will depend on how much oxycontin you usually take. The higher amounts 30-100mg daily may take several days to a week to get over.

To help your symptoms I recommend the following. Imodium AD for the diarrhea, Tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain. Benadryl at night to help the sleep. If your symptoms are severe you may need to see a medical provider who can give you additional medications like atarax to help more with the anxiety and sleep.

I wish you the best of luck in going through this difficult period in your life
