Question: Doctor ! For severe upper respiratory tract infection with cough and wheezing which is ideal - NOVOMAX 625 BD orelse AUGMENTIN 625 ?Age 62 Male.
Which is better to be used Novomax 625 or Augmentin Clauvanate 625 ? Dosage please ?
Problem Upper respiratory tract infection for over fifteen days. No fever but feverishness.

Hello,
NOVOMAX and AUGMENTIN (both antibiotics) has same generic combination of drugs with Amoxicillin and Clavunic acid of same dose but different brands. Since augmentin is famous you can opt for it. However I prefer you buying with a prescription from a doctor.
Antibiotic alone will not help you because you have bronchospasm. I doubt if you actuallly need an antibiotic because all viral URTI will be associated with mild to moderate bronchospasm and I prefer to put such people on symptomatic bronchodilator like Salbutamol or Terbutaline. So you can take Sy KOFAREST 15ml thrice a day for 5 days. I would delay AUGMENTIN till 5 days.
