Suggest Treatment For Warts

Question: Hi. I have something on my finger I am trying to identify and treat. I saw a dermatologist who said it was just a callous but I believe it to be some kind of wart. I have a photo but can't figure out how to submit a photo here. Is there a way to share the picture with you? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Wart/Verruca vulgaris

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and I have understood it.

I have also seen the picture.

This looks more like a wart. I can see thrombosed capillaries as red dots. Moreover this is an unusual site for a callus.

Treatment of warts and corns is generally the same. You have to use a topical keratolytic preparation (salicylic acid 17%w/v+lactic acid 17%w/v liquid) once daily at night over this area. First of all soak the finger in lukewarm water for 15 min and the apply keratolytic preparation.

Slight scrubbing with a pumice stone would help remove dead skin and allow the keratolytic preparation to penetrate better.

You may also gently pair the dead skin with a blade every 2-3 days as it gets softer.

Regards
