Question: Hi. My two year old daughter has had diarrhea since Sunday which started with some throwing up. She's drinking water, and some juice... And keeps asking for milk. Is milk ok? Also, her stomache seems a little bloated, is this normal? Thanks in advance!

Brief Answer:
will settle soon. Avoid milk

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually loose stools is a viral infection.
It will settle down in 3 to 5 days.
I usually prescribe oral rehydration solutions like pedialyte along with zinc.
It is better to avoid milk as it wouldn't get digested easily.
If she keeps asking for milk you can give her lactose free milk.
Ensure she passes urine atleast 6 times a day.
Wishing your child good health.
Regards
Dr Arun
