Brief Answer:
investigation is needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

extensive bruising raises concerns about blood coagulation problems. Sometimes blood vessel and platelet problems may contribute or aggravate the problem (or even cause it).
You'd better visit your doctor at once. Clinical examination information is very important to get some clues. I'll mention some potential causes and investigation strategy:
- coagulation problems (there are various causes, including some inherited diseases) : measuring your INR and aPTT, d-dimers and fibrinogen are important information to evaluate the coagulation effectiveness
- platelet count: low platelet numbers may impair thrombus (clot) formation.
- platelet functionality: there are various causes (some of them are genetic). You'll need to contact a hematologist for that if the rest of the investigation won't suffice.
- blood vessel problems like vasculitis: there are many types of vasculitis, biopsy provides the diagnosis in most of them.

Other tests that may prove useful include kidney function tests (urea, creatinine, urinalysis), liver function tests (AST, ALT, ALP, gGT, albumin and total proteins).

If you could upload a good quality picture (good lighting, no shadows and well focused) it could be helpful.
Also please mention any other symptoms you may have like joint pain, blood in the urine, abdominal pain, recent problems (like viral infections or anything else) or whatever may seem relevant to you even if it's old.
Information of particular interest is whether you've bleeding problems like a bleeding episode that couldn't be dealt with easy after a simple cut (when shaving for example).

I'll be glad to comment on more data!

Kind Regards!

Brief Answer:
you need coagulation assessment

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the info.
If this bruises are not the result of injury then you're going to need the aforementioned investigation, particularly the coagulation tests (INR, aPTT) and also a complete blood count with microscopic assessment.
Perhaps contacting a hematologist would be the right next step.
Your primary care physician may help you with the first basic tests.

Kind Regards!
