Brief Answer:
Hand washing is important.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

There are two parts of your query. The first one deals with the tics and the behavioral problems of your child. Play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) would help in dealing with it. A periodic neurological evaluation would also be needed. About the second part of the problem involving touching the crabs, clams and toxique as well as the algae, I would insist you not to panic. We, as humans, keep polluting the environment, and those pollutants get concentrated in crabs and clams. But touching them is not outright a health threat but unless you wash the hands properly with soap, it could be a potential source of food poisoning. So, all I would suggest you is to wash his hands (and other areas of contact) thoroughly. I do not think that you need to worry further.
