Brief Answer:
Antifungals are hepatotoxic.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for chosong HealthcareMagic for your query.
Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concerns.

As per your query answers are-

1) Undecylenic acid is a antifungal. Most of the antifungals are hepatotoxic or renal toxic as they are metabolised by liver and are excreted by kidney therefore in general any history of hepatic or renal dysfunction is a contraindication of its use.

2)Yes it can effect liver therefore a patient on anyifungals should get his liver function tests done every month.
As liver secrete bile and various enzymes responsile for proper digestion of food,Patients on antifungals from long time can get their digestion effected also.

Rx
Take an antioxidant once daily. They help the liver to fight against oxidants produced by antifungals.

Use sylimarin daily. Its a potent liver rejenuvator and help to rejenuvate liver.

Take a probiotic like VSL#3 once daily every day it would help in overall digestion of food.

Hope i was helpful.
Feel free to follow up.

Thanks!
