Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In The Lower Leg With Fatigue

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Mar 2017
Question: hello, I have recently been taken test for low Vitamin B12 due to tingling in lower legs and extreme tiredness all the time. Results showed Vit B12 as 122 and in UK should be 200 (which i understand is really too low). I was also tested for lack of Intrinsic Factor after having 6 x B12 injections and this test came back as negative so all is fine relating to IF. However GP says that he will no longer provide B12 injections and I just have to go back in 6 months to check levels again. There is no help provided on how I can get B12 back up to normal levels, is this something you can advise me on please?

Brief Answer:
Oral tablets/Foods rich in vitamin B12.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

As you have already taken a course of vitamin B12 injections,I would suggest you to switch on oral vitamin B12 tablets. Tab. Neurobion forte or methycobal can be taken once a day. Further, foods rich in vitamin B12 can be taken like-fish, eggs, fortified cereals and dairy products.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Hello, thank you for your reply. However, I do have food intolerances to eggs and gluten so cereals are out for me. Are there any other foods that I could take please?
