Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
How was your day?

Hope this message finds you in good health.
I have gone through your query in detail and understand your concern.

I generally see many cases like this at my clinic, and we have found that its not a disease, but these are physiological changes occuring to a womans body in post menopausal age.
In your mothers case, she might have had her menopause by now. After menopause, due to hormonal changes occuring in her body, the bones loose their calcium very fast , causing the bones very weak. Knees are main weight bearing joints, so these are affected very early.
There is a gap means, the cartilage between the 2 bones in knee, is thinned out, so when she walks, both bones get rubbed to each other due to less lubricant fluid, and causes pain.
As this is a ageing process, these symptoms are bound to increase more, as she gets older.
So its better to avoid further damage to knees with following precautions-

1 . eat calcium rich diet- milk, anjir, green vegetables, raagi, fruits, vitamin D supplements, and calcium tablets- this will strengthen her bones.

2. Avoid sitting cross legged, climbing stairs, and sitting on floor. She should sit on bed or stool as far as possible.

3.Do regular knee exercises- Remove knee cap while exercises and while sleeping.

4. avoid pain killers- do fomentation if she has minor pain. Take analgesics only if pain is unbearable.

Following these minor things will increase the strength and life of her knees for another 15- 20 years

She should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about, as long as i am there to help you.
I hope your question has been answered.

Hello Sir.

Thank you so much for your advice. I had one doubt more. Should she continue going to choyang XXXXXXX (heat radiation therapy) ? or she should join in for some physiotherapist ?

Detailed Answer:
Hi Radhikaa

Welcome back

She can go for heat therapy, but i guess its based on infra red therapy. It will only temporarily help her. It will NOT cure her.

She can learn exercises from physiotherapist and she can do them at home.
I hope your question has been answered.
