Suggest Treatment For Tear And Bleeding In Frenulum Followed By Stinging Pain

default
Posted on Thu, 29 Jan 2015
Question: Hi

I completey tore my frenelum two days ago and it bled a lot! After the bleeding stopped, I went to the doctor to have it examined and there was no pain. I was able to pull the foreskin back no problems. The next day, I went to urinate and felt a burn. Then when I took a shower, I went to pull the foreskin back to clean however a huge sting came from it. Now I haven't pulled the foreskin back since. When is it safe for me to pull the foreskin back and approx how long will it take for the pain to go away and heal?

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Please keep this area clean and dry, do not avoid pulling back the foreskin

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

You should not avoid pulling the foreskin back. You should treat it as a regular wound. It should be cleaned everyday and kept dry.
If its possible please pull back the foreskin and make a picture so I can give more precise answer.
Frenulum should heal in a week or so. After that time the pain should not be present. You should wash it every day with water and soap.
Burning while urinating can be the symptom of infection. There should be some redness around the urethra. This is another reason to keep this area clean and do not avoid foreskin pulling back. If the burning while urinating will be still present, you should consult your doctor once again and have swab test done to determine the factor of infection.
For about a month you should avoid intercourse and masturbation. If there will be any problem with the scar (too short frenulum, painful intercourse) you should consult urologist and consider some correction of this area.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
