Question: Hello my testicle is swollen I was given antibiotics for it how long will it take to go away

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have swelling of your testicle since very recently.

1) Do you have pain in testicle ?
2) Do you have any urinary symptoms like burning ,frequency etc ?
The swelling of the testicle could be either due to infection (Orchitis) or Hydrocele and need to be confirmed by clinical examination by a qualified General Surgeon or Urologist
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of Scrotum.
3) Haemogram.
In the mean while take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Orchitis takes long time to get cured hence one needs to take medicines for 3 weeks .
