Brief Answer:
Ultrasound should be done to determine the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Swollen lymph node in the groin can appear due to two main reasons. First is an inflammation of some region located close to this lymph node. Second is a cancer which has given the metastases to this lymph node.
Second possibility is rare. In most cases we see enlarged groin lymph node due to some inflammation.

However as it might be serious, you should not ignore it. Please consult your doctor and have groin ultrasound. This test should give the answer about the nature of this node enlargement.

Jock itch is rather not the reason of this enlargement.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
