Suggest Treatment For Swollen Hand And Brusied Kuckle After An Injury

Question: my husband tripped and landed knuckles down on his hand...in a fist position. now his hand is swollen on the top and his knuckles are bruised and the bruising goes into his fingers. icing helps the swelling. broken maybe or some tendon damage? pics attached.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

This surely looks badly injured.
The first two things to be done in such a case are the rest & ice application to the injured part. That i believe you have already done.

You shall also take a combination of analgesic and antiinflammatory i.e. aceclofenac 200 mg + acetaminophen 500 mg twice daily.
Elevate the injured hand to above your chest level always.

If all these things combined do no settle the swelling and pain in 3 days, better to get an Xray of the hand done and follow with an orthopaedic.
