Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Foot And Asthma

Question: Hello Doctor,
My mother , aged 65 years having two complications
1. Asthma
2.Swelling over foot (Partially on the face as well)

First we consulted M.D Physician , after thorough Diagnosis ( CBC, LFT, Albumin test and Abdomen Scan) doctor suggested Dytor Plus medicine . Which helped to relieve from Swelling.

Then we consulted Pulmonologist to treat Asthma , She recommended LEVOFLOX(250mg) and SPIRODIN-AB

After using the above medicine , swelling over the foot re-occurred.
I would like to seek your suggestion , can DYTOR PLUS be used while taking the LEVOFLOX(250mg) and SPIRODIN-AB.

Kindly review the above issue and provide me the suggestion.

Brief Answer:
Yes dytor plus can be given with levoflox and spirodin AB.

Detailed Answer:

Dytor plus is a diuretic drug used to treat water retention due to many causes.

Levoflox is an antibiotic which the pulmonologist must have prescribed for any infection. Spirodin AB is used in asthma patients to relieve the bronchospasm which causes breathlessness. It is unlikely that the swelling has reappeared due to levoflox and spirodin AB. Yes you can give these drugs with dytor plus.

Your mother`s reports are more or less normal except it seems while taking ECG the chest leads have not been put properly. You may get it repeated and consult your treating physician/cardiologist..

I am concerned about re-appearance of swelling.
Question-1: We would like to know more details / causes of re-appearance of swelling.
Question-2: What medicine would you suggest for the permanent cure to treat swelling?
On Yesterday visit Doctor changed the medicine as listed below.
Question-3 : Can you please review the prescribed medicine to treat both diseases. Please let us know if you have any suggestions. There are many medicines , would body can absorb all these medicines.
Now doctor changed Dytor plus to Ditide.
1. Asthma
2.Swelling over foot (Partially on the face as well)

1.     Tab:Moxicip-400mg (1-0-0)
2.     Syp: Pulmoclear -10ml (1-0-1)
3.     Rotaecap : Formoflo-250mg (1-0-1)
4.     Tab: AB flo-100mg (1-0-1)
5.     Tab: Ditide (1-0-0)
6.     Tab: Hepamerz (1-0-1)
7.     Tab: Beplex Forte (1-0-0)
Please review the case thoroughly and let us know, prescribed medicine above would be good to treat both diseases.

Brief Answer:
Only her treating physician can tell the cause of swelling .

Detailed Answer:

Have gone through her reports. Mostly normal. One report shows low albumin but in another one it is shown as normal. Liver enzymes are raised.

Only her treating physician can tell the cause of swelling as reports do not indicate any gross pathology. Does she have high blood pressure and has a ECHO been done to see her heart status? Rarely asthma can affect right heart which can also cause swelling feet. I suggest you discuss with her treating physician/cardiologist who will be able to tell the cause of swelling.

Dytor plus and Ditide are diuretics and can be used in lieu of each other.

Rest of the medicines are for asthma and can be given without much side effects. Hepamerz is used for liver conditions.
