Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Fingers

Question: The Saturday before last, I did something to my finger... I'm pretty sure it happened during the Tough Mudder I was running, so there was too much going on to appreciate every little bump and scrape. My best guess is that maybe it was a splinter that's still in there (I can't see anything to pull out; there's a little white bump) and that it's slightly more likely that it's rope than wood, but, again, I really don't know. Whatever, it seems to have become infected. It's on the inside of the second knuckle and a week ago it was so swollen that I couldn't fully bend it; it's less swollen and less red now, but I still can't get my wedding ring back on and it's slightly/dully painful (especially after I grip something or try to squeeze rings back over it...). Is this something worth going to a clinic about?

Brief Answer:
Worth going to clinic to confirm and get treated accordingly.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
read your history carefully and understood your concerns.
Since it is a long time and still the swelling is remaining, it is better to have an evaluation done by a Doctor at clinic.
Remember very important thing: this is about the finger which is very important part of the body.
Since the swelling is there and you have also tried to poke with needle, there may be just an inflammation of the joint or if the foreign body would have been there, it would have formed an abscess or started to get cornified by this time.

Your Doctor certainly has more experience and hence can tell the diagnosis and management better. You may be then prescribed medicines for a few days if your Doctor thinks so.

You may please post clear and focused on the swelling photographs as it helps sometimes for on-the-spot diagnosis.
