Brief Answer:
THis is normal!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about abscess. I have reviewed all the information and there re no red flags. Healing is in the right direction and the unabated swelling is not unexpected. Swelling is a typical response to an infection an wouldn't resolve spontaneously. It normally takes a few more days before significant regression is noted. To me, continue with ongoing treatment and unless something else comes up, there is no reason to be worried about it.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask of more information and clarifications if need be.

Hello dr chobufo
Thank you for your reassuring answer

Can you explain & go into more detail as to why the abscess still looks swollen so I can gain more understanding of what is happening?
Although I am glad to hear that you think it's ok I would like to gain understanding of what is happening
What causes the swelling?

Detailed Answer:
HI,

Inflammation is a normal response to an infection. As the pus is evacuated and drainage stops, the infection stops spreading. However, the inflammatory reaction will not stop instantly. What matters most is that swelling would stop increasing and will certainly regress progressively over time. It is all about time for this to fully recover. I really needs time because inflammations wouldn't resolve over night>

I wish you well and feel free to ask further if need be.
