Question: My brother in law had sudden onset of severe pain an weakness to right wrist and hand 2 wks ago. Saw his pcp, lab work done which r/o gout and one other possibility, sister couldn't remember. Dr gave Rx for medrol dospak, which hasn't helped. Last night, his left started with severe pain and weakness. Unable to use hands for anything. My sister had to help him shower and even eat. What do you think?

Your brother has been having acute neurological changes over the past 2 weeks. This is concerning for possible multiple sclerosis. I recommend that he be seen right away and possible get an MRI. These neurological changes are concerning and need additional investigation. He needs to be seen today. If his PCP can't see him today then take him to the ER
