Question: sudden onset of diarrhea with no cramping accompanied by dizziness. I ate soft serve ice-cream a couple of hours ago, which I usually don't eat. Could this just be some form of lactose intolerance?

How many hours after eating ice cream did you have loose stool exactly ?
How many episodes and for how long did you continue to have loose stools ?

Yes occasionally I have had similar diarrhea with dairy and cheese, but not often. It was probably 3 to 4 hours after the ice-cream. I had three episodes very close together and I have not had any more since I posted the question.

Yes, it could be lactose intolerance.

Most of times loose stools are accompanied with severe flatulence and cramps following one or two loose stools episodes.
