Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat

Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: hi I had strep throat not too long ago... and now it's gone... I developed a mild case of oral thrush...hasn't got worse just a little white on the tongue... but it doesn't hurt much.. I'm sure I'll see a doctor soon to get something to treat it. but my question is. after strep throat...I've had a cough... sometimes it gets bad where I feel like throwing up but nothing comes out. but that's once and awhile.. I cough sometimes here and there a day but not severely. is it normal for that to happen. and should I just let it pass a few more weeks. I mean I feel a lot better then when I had strep. my throat does not hurt at all anynorr. so is it normal?

Brief answer....nothing to worry.
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks or the query.
I have read your query and noted your concern.
Since your oral thrush is mild, you can yourself treat it with oral application of antifungal oral liquid like CLOTRIMAZOLE for 7-10 days.
As far as your cough is concerned it seems to be some residual inflammation of lungs.
You may take steam inhalation twice a day for 5-7 days and it shall go away.
I think there is just nothing to worry.
I hope it helps however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

Hello,
You can use either plain steam or Vicks steam.
Both would do the thing.
Thanks
