Question: Hi, I had a stomach flu since last Sunday, fever 101 - 102 all week, now around 100. Headaches, sore muscles. nausea, dihhrea, etc. Ended up on Fri. at the ER for 2 bags and Levoflaxacin and anti nausea medicine Woke up this morning with dizziness and shakes. Have an appt with dr tomorrow morning. Is it a possible reaction to meds?

What you are suffering from looks like gastroenteritis. You have been given antibiotics for the same, levofloxacin usually causes side effects like seizures and generalised body pain but this comes almost immediately after taking the drug. Now that the spike of fever is lower it means that the antibiotic is working, it will take another two weeks for you to feel completely normal. Until then here is what you should do

1 Keep yourself well hydrated with clear fluids
2. avoid milk and milk products
3. avoid smoking and alcohol
4. keep food bland and spice free
