Question: I have had a sore neck for several weeks that creeped up into my lower ear. The other day I used my Flonase and it felt like it went straight down my throat and into my ear. Now my neck, ear and throat all hurt when I sniff

Brief Answer:
Suspect drug allergy

Detailed Answer:
Hi madam.Thanks for your query.

I would provisionally suspect drug allergy (allergy to flonase).
Is this the first time that you are using flonase?
Are you having associated itching, redness etc on your neck?
Did you have any ear, throat or neck problems in the recent past?
I would suggest to stop using flonase for a while.

Await your reply soon.

I have been using Flonase for a while. No itching or redness on outside of throat or neck. My neck is very tender to touch and my throat is sore but only on 1 side
my ear also feels sore on the inside.

Brief Answer:
Probably yeast infection, ENT examination helps.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.Thanks for quick revert.

Since you have using flonase for a while I would actually examine your throat, nose, oral cavity to identify the cause of soreness like you said.Soreness especially on steroid medications such as fluonase can be commonly due to yeast/candida infection which needs to be treated with anti-fungal medications.

Neck tenderness can be due to enlargement of lymph nodes.

Consult an ENT for further evaluation.

Upon looking in my throat I do have white stuff in my throat and mouth. Is there any over the counter meds I can use?

Answered by Dr. Praveen (13 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Over the counter medication doesn't help

Detailed Answer:
Hi.There are no OTC.

This white patch indicates oral yeast infection(candidiasis) which has to be treated with antifungal(eg.fluconazole).OTC's don't help.Get in touch with your physician.

Regret for the delay.Get well soon.Withhold fluonase.
