Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat, Swollen Tonsil And Sinus Infection

Question: 2 months ago I had a sore throat and descovered a swollen tonsil or a growth on left side, ent gave antibiotics that cleared up sinus infection, but I continue to have post XXXXXXX drip and flem, I have no other symptoms and not sure if I should wait, ent wants to biopsy in 2 weeks/surgery where they put me under to get a tissue sample to test.

1. The image shows anterior pillar and soft palate congestion (uvula). It is common for one Tonsil to look prominent on examination.

2. A plain Sinus CT can be done if medical therapy does not control the Post Nasal Drip.

3. You should wait before a biopsy and if you do, it can be done under local anesthesia.

Is there anything I can do to reduce the, swelling because this does not look normal and how long should I wait if the swelling does not go away?

1. Yes, to reduce the swelling, an anti-inflammatory (such as Disperzyme), an anti-allergic (such as cetrizine / fexofenadine) and a medicated oral rinse can be used for a week.
