Brief Answer:
can try some general measures

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

She can follow some general measures like,
1) Warm salt water gargling 5 times daily.
2) Steam inhalation 4 times daily.
3) Voice rest , absolute rest for 3 days after which she can start talking just a little. No yelling and no whispering.
4) Avoid cold foods and drinks.
5) Drink plenty of warm fluids like warm water and soups. She should take 4 litres of fluids per day.
6) Handful of dry fruits like walnut or almond for a week.

She can take simple pain killers like paracetamol after checking the dose.
For nasal congestion she can use decongestant nose drops like otrivin 3 drops 3 times daily for not more than 5 days.

Brief Answer:
puts lots of stress on cords.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Whispering should be avoided during laryngitis because it puts lots of strain on the vocal cords. Vocal cords should be rested during infection to promote healing.
