Brief Answer:
Prominent aortic knuckle may be a normal finding if no other pathology

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

Prominent aortic knuckle is a very common radiological finding .

1) If you are more than 60 years , it's due to age related unfolding of the aorta
2) Even when you are a little rotated while the X ray film is taken the aortic knuckle may be a little prominent.

Sore throat and cough are explained by more local problems in the throat, rather than aortic pathology. If other features are normal in the X ray, I don't for see any serious underlying cause only because of prominent aortic knuckle.

A review of actual X ray plate by your physician with Co relation of clinical examination would help ruling out any significant cause for the same .

Heart and lung should be the Two differential for the Symptoms you describe.

Hoping I could help .
Let me know if any clarification is needed and I would be happy to help .
Regards
