I would like you to meet your ent doctor , who will take a throat swab and send it for culture , once the organism causing your sore throat is known and its sensitivity pattern determined , you can be started on appropriate antibiotics.
Meanwhile , please continue with salt water gargles and lemon - honey , they will give good relief.
Please avoid oily and spicy food as they may aggravate your throat complaints.

Sorry I miss informed you, I am only 4 days in to my course of Cifran with 24 to go.
